China Floor Industry Shooting fo Speech Privilege in the World

---World Floor Forum Preparatory Committee Meeting Initiated on Aug 15 in Shanghai

(Shanghai, Aug 18)—The Flooring Committee of China National Forestry Products Industry Association, associated with VNU Exhibitions Asia, initiated World Floor Forum (WFF) China Preparatory Committee Meeting on Aug 15, 2009 at Shanghai Sky Fortune Boutique Hotel.

With its rapid growth during the past 15 years, the floor industry in China has become more competitive with more branding-conscious. However, China floor industry has not yet earned its speech privilege it deserves, contra to its current status in the world. Its further growth has been held down by factors including environmental responsibilities, trade barriers, certification and technology innovation. It all leads to the fact that China lacks a unified voice that is effective enough to pitch to the world floor industry. Therefore, the floor industry in China anxiously needs a platform such as World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland to share its achievements and showcase its products with the rest of the world.

As a result, the World Floor Forum (WFF) was formed under such circumstances, which develops a brand new communication mechanism for the floor industry in China and additionally, it cements the model industry dominated by government, who plays a leading role in providing a platform for the enterprises. Consequently, WFF will provide a high-level dialogue platform on issues regarding world floor industry for members from the industrial, commercial and academic fields. WFF is dedicated to promoting a sustained and sound development in floor industry in China and worldwide through further integration of its regional economy, in order to leverage its speech privilege in the world floor inFdustry through a high-level strategic dialogue platform.

The representatives from leading China floor companies and association leaders attended the meeting, including Mr. Kelin Ye, Vice-chairman of China Forest Products Industry and President of the Research Institute of China Wood Industry, Mr. Zhigang Sun, Deputy Secretary-General of China Forest Products Industry, Mr. Bin Lv, Secretary-General of China Flooring Committee of China Forest Products Industry, Mr. Feng Fu, President of Jiangsu Floor Association, Mr. Yongfeng Pan, Direstor of Anji Economic and Trade Council, Mr. Wenguo Li, President Mr. Junshan Zhu, Vice-president of Hubei Floor Association. During the forum, the attendees reached a mutual agreement, the urgency to create and maintain a unified channel to showcase China flooring products and also rise to the global challenges with an open mind. The Preparatory Committee Meeting also draft several focal points for the initial World Floor Form (WFF) next year, including coping with foreign trade barriers, rational logging and utilization of forest, establishment of certification authority in China, development and innovation of green ecological flooring materials.

World Floor Forum (WFF) will take place concurrently with DOMOTEX asia/CHINAFLOOR(DACF) 2010 on Mar 23-25, 2010 at Shanghai New International Expo Center (SNIEC). World Floor Forum (WFF) will certainly be a landmark for development of floor industry in China and worldwide.
